DIRECTORS COMMENTARY
--1
In this shot, a school bell is ringing, which means the lessons have ended. I have done this so the audience can infer the type of person the character is, and the rest of the cast; a teenager in education.
--2
In this shot, the clock is ticking, which highlights to the audience that time has passed, and the scene will end and change to a new, different time.
--3
In this shot, the audience can see the main character, Malik, putting on a coat. I have done this, so they know that he is about to leave, and they are about to be shown a later time when he has arrived at the next scenario.
--4
In this shot, the audience is placed in a position where they view the main character's point of view. By making the camera shaky, I have ensured the audience feel a sense of self identity as they view Malik’s perspective of everything.
--5
In this tracking shot, the audience is placed to see the beginning of a new event, which infers that the cast has begun what they spoke about moments before in the film but is realistically later in the film's timeline.

In this shot, the audience is placed in an extreme close-up of Damian, one of the side cast members. This maximizes the silence effect, as if we are hearing from Malik’s ears; to demonstrate that he has ‘zoned out’.
This document has been forged to display my thought processes while editing certain shots, and how it effects the audience and makes an impact on the quality of the film.
