1 EXT. LOCAL PARK – DINNINGTON – MIDNIGHT 1
An empty park known for people disappearing of unknown reasons, Malik is eager to find paranormal phenomena all by himself.
The camera converts to a Point of View angle of Malik.
[METALLIC THUD]
MALIK
I must be going crazy man.
Malik swivels to see anything in the moment, to find nothing. He leaves paranoid, knowing there was something else there.
2 INT. STUDY ROOM – DINNINGTON – EARLY AFTERNOON 2
A low angle shot of Malik, Damian and Sebastian studying together in a small room, concentrating on themselves.
SEBASTIAN
That’s some really impressive work right there. How have you done all of that in one night?
The camera transitions to Malik typing on his computer search engine and turns to fact Damian behind him.
MALIK
Oi look at this.
DAMIAN
What is it?
The camera alters to an Over the Shoulder shot of Damian at a semi-high angle.
DAMIAN (CONT’D)
(Pfft) Shut up you madden what are you on about? Listen, I can’t tell if you’re pulling my leg or not here.
MALIK
(Sighs) Just forget about it man it doesn’t even matter.
From a high angle, we see the three boys finishing whatever they were doing, and Malik intrigues them with proof of his discoveries.
MALIK
Are you’s two free later?
DAMIAN
(Thinking) Can do but we have to be somewhere now.
We then see the three walk out of the room to end this scene.
3 EXT. LOCAL PARK – DINNINGTON – LATE NIGHT 3
This scene begins with a car arriving at a lay-by, for us to see that it is Damian and Sebastian getting out of the car and walking to a place unbeknownst to the viewers.
DAMIAN
Malik has been acting weird as fuck recently...
SEBASTIAN
Yeah Malik has been out of whack bro it’s crazy.
DAMIAN
Glad I’m not the only one who’s noticed it either.
The shot transitions to Malik walking assumingly from the opposite direction, for us to then witness the three meetup.
DAMIAN
(Excitedly) Happenin’ man?
MALIK
What’s good fellas?
DAMIAN
How you feeling? You alright?
MALIK
Yeah I’m fine.
DAMIAN
You sure?
THE THREE BEGIN WALKING TOGETHER TOWARDS THE ENTRANCE TO THE PARK, AND MALIK DECIDES TO SHOW DAMIAN AND SEBASTIAN SOMETHING ON HIS PHONE.
MALIK
Oh you lads need to see this.
SEBASTIAN
What is it?
MALIK
I’m telling you I’m not joking.
DAMIAN
Oh Jesus man there’s literally nothing there.
SEBASTIAN
What are you looking at?
DAMIAN
You’re going mad you.
THE SHOT CUTS INTO BLACK, THEN REAPPEARING SECONDS LAER WITH THE SAME ANGLE CONTAINING ALL 3 OF THE CHARACTERS.
DAMIAN
Are you even listening to me man?
DAMIAN (CONT’D)
(Heavily muffled) I’m saying you’re a mad head, you need sorting out, you need putting in a box.
DAMIAN (CONT’D)
Oi, wake up!
MALIK
I’m good bro.
DAMIAN
Let me show there’s nothing there.
The boys wander on over to the park, and as they are walking, it begins to rain a little.
DAMIAN
I’ll tell you what it is starting to rain though.
It then cuts to a Point of View of Malik looking at Damian and Sebastian who are worried about him.
DAMIAN
I’m starting to get proper worried about you.
SEBASTIAN
Why, why are you acting so crazy?
DAMIAN
There is literally nothing here.
THE SCENE CUTS TO A FIGURE STANDING BEHIND SEBASTIAN AND DAMIAN, WORRYING MALIK EVEN MORE.
DAMIAN
We’re here for you if you need any help mate. But it’s best off you stop acting like this.
SEBASTIAN
Maybe he’s too far gone, look at this guy.
DAMIAN
(Sniffles)
Malik runs away out of fear, sprinting towards the road and lost from the sight of Damian and Sebastian, who are doing their being to calm him down.
DAMIAN
Come back!
SEBASTIAN
Malik! Come back!
Moments later, they accidentally hit Malik while driving, causing the death of him.
SEBASTIAN
Oh my God!
The shot cuts, hinting towards the end of the short film. However, we witness the same figure that could not previously be seen by the two men, be seen outside of Damian’s window.
DAMIAN
(Loud gasp)
THE END

I created this script for the cast to have an understanding of what they are planned to say with the locations and camera shots of the scene. This will allow the crew to also have an understanding of the location of which the scene is taking place, and the types of shots that will be used. During the process of creating this, I researched examples of good scripts online to achieve a greater understanding of how one would be portrayed and what would be included in it. This is an essential part for when we will do the filming due to its clear presentation of the characters lines and locations used.
